Support for Schools.

  • Expert advice.

If you need an external view from someone who understands both mainstream and alternative provision, we can step in as an experienced voice. Our team draws on leadership experience that includes moving schools out of Special Measures, leading safeguarding and governance across a national group of AP schools and supporting Ofsted inspections in a range of settings. Through one-off consultations or ongoing coaching, we help leaders unpick complex issues around inclusion, behaviour, attendance, pupil premium and the use of AP, so you can make confident decisions that stand up to scrutiny. To book a free 30 minute conversation book here.

  • Improving practice.

Whether you are reviewing practice or responding to a recent inspection, we can work alongside your staff to improve outcomes for pupils who are struggling. We help colleagues to understand their current position, use data and research intelligently and translate that into focused, realistic action plans that lead to sustainable change rather than short‑term fixes. Our particular strengths include behaviour and culture, attendance, safeguarding, internal provisions and the use of external AP, so school improvement work is always joined‑up and centred on inclusion. Costs vary but you can expect our consultants to work at around £450 a day including pre-visit and follow up.

  • Poverty strategy support.

We support schools to move beyond ad‑hoc responses to poverty and build a coherent, long‑term poverty strategy. This includes helping you understand the specific barriers your disadvantaged pupils and their families face, auditing your current practice, training staff and developing support that lowers those barriers in day‑to‑day school life. Drawing on socio‑economic profiling, our own research into successful schools and national guidance, we can then coach leaders through implementation so the strategy becomes sustainable and embedded rather than another short‑term initiative. • Pupil premium audits.

Our pupil premium audits give you an honest, evidence‑based picture of how well your current approach is working for disadvantaged pupils. We analyse contextual and attainment data alongside your existing strategies to highlight strengths, gaps and high‑leverage next steps, informed by national guidance and our own research on schools that have successfully closed the gap. Each report comes with a coaching meeting to shape a sharper pupil premium action plan and questionnaires you can use to bring pupil and parent voice into your ongoing review. Our PP Audits and follow up cost £550

  • Internal alternative provision.

If you are setting up or strengthening an internal alternative provision, we can help you design something that genuinely works for your pupils rather than a place where they are simply “parked”. Using our handouts, CPD and consultancy, we walk you through purpose, structure, curriculum, reintegration and how internal AP aligns with the Ofsted framework and wider behaviour and inclusion strategy. We can also deliver training in trauma-informed practice and non‑confrontational behaviour management so your internal provision feels safe, relational and focused on long‑term change, not just day‑to‑day firefighting.

  • Using alternative provision.

The new Ofsted framework means schools are now under even closer scrutiny for how they commission and monitor external AP. We can help you tighten your processes so they are child‑centred, defensible and fully aligned with Ofsted expectations and the new DfE non‑school AP standards. This can include reviewing your paperwork and contracts, using our Ofsted preparation tool to check for red flags, and working with leaders to ensure placements, quality assurance and reintegration are robust and well‑evidenced.
